Treasure hunt: how to choose a metal detectorPractical advices on choosing a metal detector for beginners
bought it as my first metal detector, used it for a season. No complaints about its performance. It detects coins at a depth of a shovel blade. compact, lightweight non-replaceable coil, slight play in the rod use Minelab Go-Find 60 few months |
I bought it for myself. After two outings, I realized that the shaft of this design wouldn't last a year. I was disappointed by the impossibility of coil replacement (although something was devised for it on the Fortuna). After two outings, I sold it. Light weight. Ultra-compact. Non-removable coil. Fragile construction. Useless Android app. Small detection depth compared to competitors in the same price range. use Minelab Go-Find 60 month or more |
Worked with it for three days, the coil mount broke off, repair shops won't take it, no service centers available, and refund was denied. Sensitivity is very low, a coin is detected only 2-3cm away from the coil at most, but a manhole cover can be detected at 25cm. All in all, it's a scam for the price, you can buy two much better and higher quality devices. I don't recommend it, poor quality, all plastic parts have burrs and flash, the shaft is loose. Batteries last less than 30 minutes!!! Compact, put it in the cabinet and forget about it! Poor quality shaft, everything wobbles and doesn't stay fixed, burrs and sharp edges everywhere. Detects objects the size of a manhole cover or larger, smaller ones are not detected. Does not identify metal type. Drains batteries quickly. No service, if something breaks, you just have to throw it away!!! use Minelab Go-Find 60 less than month |
