The Metabo SE 2500 screwdriver is designed for working with "delicate" sheet materials used in construction and finishing. It is especially convenient for attaching sheets of drywall, gypsum-fiber boards, and thin plywood that have been preliminarily attached to a metal frame or wooden lath.
Easy and Convenient
The tool is initially "tailored" for one-handed operation. It is very light (just 1.2 kg — about two hundred grams lighter than average) and quite compact. The wide trigger button can be pressed with any finger. The body shape is designed in such a way that the device fits comfortably in the hand in both horizontal and vertical positions. Thus, with the Metabo screwdriver, you can work an entire shift on the construction site without much strain and, once experienced, spend less than a second on each screw. The work speed can even be increased by using the SM 5-55 magazine attachment (it costs about $100).
The professional approach is also felt in other details. For example, the power cable is very long (5 m), and its sheath is made of quality elastic rubber. The clutch engages very precisely and almost silently. The depth stop is adjustable to 0.25 mm precision, and the limiting attachment can be removed with a single movement if needed. However, the reverse switch is inconveniently placed and moves too easily, but this is the only ergonomic note one could make to the manufacturer.
Universal Screwdriver for Finishers
This model is ideally suited for professional builders and finishers working with screws up to 5 mm in diameter. Among other Metabo screwdrivers, it is best adapted for working with drywall, fiberboard, and other sheet materials. But if you work exclusively with drywall, it makes sense to consider the Metabo SE 4000 and Metabo SE 6000 (they are faster, but slightly less powerful due to different gear ratios in the reducer).
