Unlike automatic or semi-automatic coffee machines, the Melitta Look V Therm Timer is designed to work exclusively with ground coffee, and it requires manual loading of coffee powder into a special disposable paper filter installed in the brewing unit (filters sold separately). The brewing process does not require high pressure, which is typical for espresso machines. Hot, almost boiling water with a temperature of up to 90 °C in the form of a stream of drops is filtered through a layer of ground coffee, extracting aromatic coffee oils from it. The flavor characteristics of the finished drink depend on the degree of grinding of coffee beans, their roasting, as well as the amount and hardness of water.
