As it turns out, this isn't an IPS display, but a VA display, so if that was a concern for someone, the screen isn't different from the larger 7 series models. It's a bit more expensive than the Xiaomi at 55', but the sound and picture are way better. Samsung's Q series for the same money has Edge-LED backlighting, they got really stingy. Good gradation of shades, contrast, a large brightness reserve, a divinely convenient remote control; personally, I prefer minimalist ones like Xiaomi, a wheel and a gyroscope would be enough. Although there is a smartphone app, you can control it from there. Quick setup and connection. In just 3 days of operation, WebOS has already been updated twice. The browser is good. The sound is excellent as long as it sits on a surface (I recommend the AI sound), if you don't want too much noise at night – your choice is Clear Voice, which cuts out unnecessary noisy sound effects and makes speech more pronounced. Uniform backlighting and rich black color. Works great with SRD and low-quality upscaling. Main advantage: you can either take it out of the box and start watching right away or tinker with personalizing the settings for yourself or your usage scenarios. The power cable is a bit short. In some movies, there's a glare right in the middle of the screen. The pre-set display modes don't differ much. The main menu is a bit slow. The ad blocker in the browser doesn't work, at least on the sites where I watch shows. The selection of screensavers is pretty limited, and I haven't figured out how to update them or download new ones yet. It's annoying that the Eco mode is enabled by default, and you can't adjust the brightness in any of the display modes without diving into settings to disable the energy-saving mode. |
Normal TV, the only issue is that sometimes it doesn't turn on the first time, just a dark screen, although the indicator is on. The browser doesn’t open all websites, (for example, foto mail.ru) doesn't open. This upset me. Image and screen size The browser is awful, there's no backlighting on the remote buttons, and there are buttons on the remote that don't work in RUSSIA. |
Yes, it's a VA panel with Direct LED, unlike Samsung for the same price. My model has a light bleed in the bottom right corner, but it's not critical at all. The brightness is more than enough. After a year or so, updates simply stopped coming. They skimped on the processor, the menu scrolls sluggishly, and sometimes it takes a while to think. The password for WI-FI isn't saved after switching networks, so it needs to be entered again, but it works wirelessly stably, streaming 4K on Netflix without issues at both 100 Mbps and 300 Mbps. The power cable is indeed a bit short, but the connector is standard, so it's not a problem if you need to buy a longer one (I have it connected to a UPS next to the TV, no particular issues). I regularly watch from the PC via HDMI cable, sometimes output games - no problems there. There's a smart home app from LG where you can duplicate remote and cursor functions. The sound is decent, especially when placed on a shelf or table, with a lot of bass in the "Music" preset. I haven't even considered a soundbar. The browser is usable tolerably, the ad blocker doesn't work everywhere. It's better to connect via HDMI or cast. Casting from Apple devices is really enjoyable. Yes, picture and brightness settings are adjusted separately for each playback mode: separate for HDMI, HDR content, and regular (YouTube). Another point about sound playback: it's very pleasing to have the sound output modes, you can connect 2 pairs of Bluetooth headphones simultaneously, or play on a speaker and the TV's speakers at the same time. The remote is an acquired taste, but the air cursor is cool. Stunning sound, 3 months of Apple TV+ subscription for purchasing the TV, excellent color reproduction for its price. You can assign applications to long-pressing numbers, because who needs Amazon Prime and Disney+? Weak hardware, slow interface, bulky remote: too many buttons with services that work in Ukraine and can't be reassigned. It would be better to have a minimalist one, like Xiaomi or Apple. The network cable is a bit short. You'll need to go through guides to disable unnecessary enhancements that make the video look like "soap operas." |
