Model overview based on user reviews
The Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Gen 1 AMD receives mixed reviews from users. One user appreciates the splendid AMD processor and finds the SSD and RAM sufficient for work tasks and video editing, praising Lenovo's recent improvements in laptop quality. However, another user criticizes the laptop for its creaky plastic case, limited memory, and poor battery life, especially given its high price. They also mention issues with Linux compatibility, where the laptop heats up and struggles with sleep mode. While the processor is a strong point, attributed to AMD's quality, the overall build and performance are seen as lacking compared to other models in the ThinkPad series.
Pros
Cons
Lenovo has been making really cool laptops in recent years, or is it just me who thinks so? About 8 years ago, I wouldn't have even looked their way; back then it was HP, Acer, and I also remember having a Samsung laptop, around 2009, I think. But now Lenovo is performing excellently, MSI makes decent laptops, there's Asus, HP is as it was, interesting. What do I say about this model? Well, I have a 4650U processor and 8 GB of RAM, a 256 GB drive - so it's the basic version of this laptop, but it's enough for me, purely for work tasks and video editing. SSD disk right away. RAM is enough, the processor is splendid because AMD rules now. I don't know. The laptop is good. |
The laptop is crap, for $1650 you get !8GB RAM, 256 SSD, a creaky plastic case. It does have a good processor, but that's more thanks to AMD for making cool and cheap processors. The battery lasts about 6 hours of light work, which for such money isn't complete garbage. The soft-touch surface of the lid gets scratched horribly. In 90% of Linux distributions, it doesn't work properly, specifically, the laptop heats up on them like hell and refuses to come out of sleep. Despite the fact that Ubuntu 18.04 is certified for this laptop, it doesn't work properly either (though it's certified for a laptop with an Intel processor). Expensive, unimpressive machine (I understand that ThinkPads aren't about looks), little memory, the case feels like a piece of cheap creaky plastic, the battery is crap. You sit and realize that you shelled out a ton of money and got a crap T series that's worse than the E series. I love ThinkPads, but I don't recommend this one. processor, but it's more thanks to AMD for making cool and cheap processors. Everything else |
