A powerful, slim-profile gaming laptop from Lenovo with GeForce Ampere graphics, a recognizable design and a slightly larger 16-inch screen. It belongs to the upper price range, to be included in the Lenovo Legion 2023 profile series of gaming laptops. The strengths of this series are a stylish, well-assembled aluminium case, a high-quality WQXGA screen, a comfortable keyboard with RGB backlighting, a large set of ports (5 different types of USB, Thunderbolt is included) and high performance.
Depending on the configuration, 2 types of processor are announced for Lenovo Legion S7: 12-core Intel Core i5 or 14-core Core i7. The video card is the same in all cases: a GeForce RTX 3060 with 6 GB of video memory and a rather modest 100-watt power limiter, which, on the one hand, does not allow the GPU to open up to 100%, and on the other hand, consumes the charge of the built-in battery much more efficiently.
In addition, the Lenovo Legion S7 is equipped with a single 16 GB DDR5-4800 RAM stick. The second SODIMM slot is not soldered, so the user can add one more RAM bar on his own. The maximum volume is 24 GB. Also inside there is an additional M.2 2280 slot for a second SSD. The factory storage capacity is either 512 or 1024 GB. To display the image in all modifications, a 16-inch IPS panel with a resolution of 2560x1600 pixels, an increased refresh rate of 165 Hz, natural color reproduction (100% sRGB, Pantone certification), support for HDR10 / Dolby Vision and built-in NVIDIA G-Sync is used.
This screen is ideal for both gaming and professional work with visual content. The list of additional advantages of this series includes a built-in Legion AI Engine for overclocking and optimization, a capacious battery with support for fast charging, Harman branded acoustics, a card reader, a fingerprint scanner built into the power button, and a high-quality Full HD webcam. You can't ignore the design, which has always been a strong point of the Legion series. In the S7 modification, the elegant aluminium case has become even thinner (from 20 mm to 17 mm), the screen now opens to 180 degrees, there is a stylish mesh grill under the screen that covers the speakers, and the elegant keyboard seems to be trying to break out of the case.
