A range of lightweight multi-purpose medium format laptops with quality 15.6-inch FullHD-resolution IPS displays with comfortably wide viewing angles. Unlike similar Lenovo IdeaPad models of previous years, the hardware configuration of the 2021 models is based on much more powerful 4/6/8-core AMD Ryzen 3/5 5300U/5500U processors with an improved Zen3 microarchitecture (Lucienne core, 7 nm).

It is also worth noting the excellent battery life (up to 14 hours) and support for fast charging technology (80% in just 60 minutes). Laptops Lenovo IdeaPad 5 15ALC05 are able to cope with any household and the vast majority of professional tasks without any problems. They have moderate overall dimensions of a durable aluminium-plastic case (thickness 20 mm) and a small weight of 1.66 kg.

Equipped with a full-size chiclet keyboard with Numpad, and built-in LED backlighting of the keys will help when working with text materials in low light conditions. To display the image, the built-in AMD Radeon Vega 6/7 video cores are used, providing a basic level of 3D performance. There is an HD webcam with a mechanical shutter and a fast Wi-Fi adapter with Bluetooth 5.0 support. The pre-installed DDR4-3200 (8/16 GB) RAM is soldered on the board and cannot be upgraded in the future.

Overall, it's a very good laptop and there are no critical complaints about it, I am satisfied.

I bought this laptop two and a half years ago, after the invasion, because I had to urgently move out of my home due to the city's bombings and needed something to work on. I have a Ryzen 7, 5700U, 16 GB of RAM, 512 GB SSD. After two and a half years, I can draw some conclusions. Overall, the impression is good; no problems have arisen, nothing has burned out. On the negative side, it has started to heat up over time, especially in summer. Without a fan stand, this is particularly noticeable. There is also an interesting point, maybe it's related to Ubuntu; if the laptop is in battery mode and you press the power button on the power strip, it sometimes has a strange effect on the mouse. It disconnects, and you can't reconnect it except by connecting to another laptop, but this is rare. Overall, I recommend the laptop; I'm satisfied with the purchase.
- Holds a charge for a long time, during power outages I could work with reduced screen brightness for more than 4 hours easily, but my work is specific, it consumes a lot of processing time and memory is almost completely full, so it's not that long. If you just watch movies, 68-70 percent battery is still available after 4 hours.
- Charges quickly, fully charged in just over an hour.
- Fairly powerful processor, 8 cores, no lags during compilation, processor handles it well.
- Convenient shortcut keys, such as to call up the calculator or increase brightness.
- After two years of use, the battery has started to degrade, discharging faster in standby mode; if it used to work for more than 4 hours without issues, now it lasts 2.5-3 hours before fully discharging.
- The integrated graphics card consumes 2.5 gigabytes of RAM, so you end up with 13.5GB instead of 16GB.
- After 2.5 years, it began to heat up in the center of the keyboard, especially in the summer, even after cleaning. I had to buy a stand because I'm afraid it might overheat.

As a workhorse for office tasks, it performs excellently

The laptop was purchased as a replacement for work, as the old one held a charge for up to 40 minutes, which is a joke in conditions of power outages. The device is excellent, but there are nuances, I tend to think it is worth its price, more details in the pros/cons.
Keyboard backlighting, I didn't think it was so important, but in low-light conditions, it really helps with typing. The battery is some kind of separate joy; a few times the power went out for the whole day, and the charge was enough to work almost a full workday (about 11 hours) without recharging. If there are planned outages, even an hour of fast charging is enough to recharge it. As for performance, I never had complaints; I hardly play games. The laptop is very light, convenient to carry and take everywhere with you.
Insufficient screen brightness makes it possible to work outdoors, but only at maximum brightness, and it's still not very clear.

It might be a defect with my device, but the screen hinges were quite tight initially, and after about a month, the screen started separating from the bottom of the body, first on one side (it was glued in service), then the other side followed. After that, the hinges were loosened and the body holds up, but if you open the laptop too wide, the screen falls and fully opens.

A wonderful laptop for robots and lungs

Took it for work, with the Ryzen 5500U, the laptop is fast and handles all its tasks, you can even play some light games. The display is a matte IPS matrix, which is a real hit compared to TN.
