The resolution of the large 17-inch screen Lenovo IdeaPad G70-80 is only 1600x900 pixels, which is far from the ultimate dream. For $500, you can really find models with a similar diagonal and FullHD resolution, but the configuration of the processor and graphics card will be an order of magnitude weaker. Still, a bundle of Intel Core i3 and GeForce 920M for a universal multimedia laptop is a mandatory minimum: to work and play games at your leisure.

Not without sin

If the relatively short battery life (2.5-3 hours in web surfing mode) is forgivable for the IdeaPad G70-80, given its predominantly stationary use case, then the absence of a DVD drive was an unpleasant surprise. Not that in modern realities it is often necessary to read or write laser discs, but the DVD drive could, if necessary, be replaced with a fast SSD or another capacious HDD. Moreover, there is plenty of free space inside the huge IdeaPad G70-80 case.

Heavy load

If you are firmly convinced that you will not carry a laptop further than from one room to another, and, for example, you will carry it to the country house exclusively by car, then you should definitely consider buying a 17-inch model. A three-kilogram weight in this case will not be a hindrance, and the extra five centimeters of the screen size will come in handy when working with electronic documents, photo processing and, of course, watching movies. Your eyes will definitely thank you.
