fantasy future
The medieval knight series Castle was temporarily removed from the LEGO catalog (to be returned with pomp a few years later), and its place was taken by the techno-fantasy Nexo Knights (Lego's own franchise). Most of all, this LEGO series is reminiscent of the Warhammer Fantasy Battles and Warhammer 40,000 board game universes, only devoid of excessive violence.
Tricky mechanisms
A combination of heavy knightly armor, melee weapons, magic, demonic creatures and futuristic technology - this is Nexo Knights. The Fortrex 70317 is a huge tracked build with a chain-lift bridge that also folds out for easy access to the interior.
Knights vs demons
The fortress comes with three figures of Nexo knights, a demon and its two small minions, as well as a funny robot in a chef's hat with a frying pan, whose role in this techno-fantasy universe has remained a mystery to me personally (is he good or evil?). There are also two flying scooters and a wheeled motorcycle with wide tyres (like Batman).
