For the most experienced

Mercedes-Benz Arocs is one of the most expensive and difficult to build LEGO Technic sets (almost 2800 pcs). In addition, this is a licensed copy of a real-life German truck.

air pressure

Mercedes-Benz Arocs is not capable of driving on its own, but it can automatically move the crane boom, open the bucket and raise the body to dump bulk cargo. All this is realized by a combination of an electric motor and pneumatics (compressed air), which makes a characteristic hissing sound during operation. An external remote control is not provided — all mechanisms are controlled by levers on the body.

Spring wheels

In addition to the crane and the body, the Mercedes-Benz Arocs has detailed suspension suspensions — separate for each of the eight wheels. Thanks to this, the truck famously overcomes road roughness and other obstacles. If you like the idea of working reduced copies of real-life construction equipment, but you are not ready to shell out a tidy sum for Mercedes-Benz Arocs, take a closer look at the Claas Xerion 5000 Trac VC excavator — it costs as much as a third cheaper. However instead of pneumatics, ordinary gears are used in it.
