Thirtieth Anniversary

Batmobile Pursuit of The Joker is one of the most affordable, but at the same time most interesting new LEGO products of the second half of 2019. This construction set was released in honor of the thirtieth anniversary of the cult film "Batman" directed by Tim Burton, that is, the first appearance of the Bat Man on the movie screen (twenty years before that, only a low-budget TV series was released, which, however, also acquired cult status).

Hollywood stars

It is quite difficult to recognize famous actors Michael Keaton and Jack Nicholson, who played the superhero Batman and his main enemy the Joker, in the minifigures, due to the excessive abstraction of LEGO artists. But the design of the Batmobile is a one-to-one copy of the one from that very 1989 film. Retro style of the elongated body, wheel disks decorated with the Batman symbol, fire from the exhaust pipe and a spoiler in the form of bat wings (dragon wings, borrowed from other LEGO series, are clearly used in its capacity).

Tribute to the classics

The Batman figure is dressed in an old-school gray suit (these days, Batman wears all black) and a black cloth cape (LEGO fabric parts are rare, and therefore prized by collectors), and is equipped with a large set of Bat-gadgets. The Joker is also dressed in classics: purple pants and a vest, and his hair is dyed bright green. This is clearly not the modern silent-gloomy Joker from the later film by director Christopher Nolan, but a chatty, funny villain, who can be found, for example, in the Arkham series of computer games. For the most ardent Batman fans, we can recommend the also new and much larger LEGO Batcave Clayface Invasion set with as many as seven characters from this comic universe.
