The price is fine, and the downsides don’t really depend on the manufacturer except for the first one; the rest you just have to deal with. But still, the toilet is excellent—nothing has broken in 3 years, and I’m happy! the toilet is more than good—comfortable, looks decent, and the price is reasonable. Plus, it’s made in Poland. I bought the whole Primo lineup for myself, so there’s nothing horribly bad about it, but it does have its downsides: some started showing up after a year, others after three. I’ll write about them below. The first downside that shows up right after installation, literally in the first week, is the twisted seat lid. It’s fastened to the toilet itself from underneath with two mounts—threaded bolts tightened with plastic wing nuts—and those “ears” keep loosening, so the seat starts sliding around. Well, fine, that’s only half the problem; I got around it by adding some washers. Next, I ran into—actually, it’s not even “ran into,” it’s just a cheap toilet defect—when ice-cold water flows into the tank in winter, it gets covered with frost (or whatever the proper term is), and it starts dripping onto the floor. Then it dries and leaves streaks on the tank, and this happens after every flush. And the third problem showed up after more than 3 years. Our tap water is GGG, and the flush system has built up limescale and various metals and doesn’t move smoothly. I flush, the mechanism doesn’t spring back up, and water keeps running straight into the bowl. I took everything apart, washed it, scrubbed it with a brush, hit it with a dose of Santri Light—seemed like everything came off and got cleaned—but a month later it was the same story. It’s already seeped into the plastic itself; might as well try greasing it with Vaseline… |
