Branded dual-channel set of high-speed DDR4 RAM, capable of operating at a clock frequency of 3600 MHz and providing a bandwidth of up to 28.8 Gbps. Includes two peer-to-peer modules with a capacity of 8 GB each (16 GB in total). It can be used both for assembling new systems and for upgrading the memory subsystem of existing ones. Designed for use in personal computers based on the Intel Core platform (from 6th to 14th generation, Socket 1700 systems require DDR4 support) and hardware configurations based on AMD Ryzen processors with Zen, Zen+, Zen 2 and Zen microarchitecture 3 (AM4 connector). The total memory capacity of the modules is quite enough for a multi-purpose home PC, an entry-level workstation and a balanced gaming system. The Kingston Fury Renegade DDR4 2x8Gb KF436C16RBK2/16...memory module kit is positioned as a mid-price product. The modules are equipped with advanced aluminium radiators, which can be useful during overclocking (including with increasing supply voltage). Intel XMP 2.0 technology is supported, providing easy setup of the standard DDR4-3600 operating mode with CL16-20-20 timings at 1.35 V. On motherboards that do not support this technology, manual configuration of a number of UEFI BIOS parameters is required to set the passport mode. The significant height of the modules (42.2 mm) should be taken into account when using large tower CPU coolers.

Video reviews

The Kingston Fury Renegade is a dual-channel DDR4 3600 RAM kit that includes two peer-to-peer 8GB modules. These modules start working with CL16-20-20 timings at 1.35V. They are equipped with large metal radiators that provide effective cooling of both the chips and the memory controller.

With the advent of DDR5 memory on the market, the cost of DDR4 has dropped slightly, making the Fury Renegade as affordable as modules from the budget Fury Beast series. While the Beast is aimed at the mass market with limited overclocking options, the Renegade, which replaces the HyperX Predator line, is aimed at overclocking enthusiasts.

It becomes noticeable that Kingston chooses higher quality chips and heatsinks in the Renegade series. A distinctive feature of this series is a starting frequency of 3600 MHz with the potential for advanced manual overclocking (note: up to 4266/4600 MHz), while memory bandwidth approaches that of more expensive and advanced DDR5 modules. It is for such demanding tasks that Fury Renegade memory is equipped with massive heatsinks.
