While head units with a mechanism for playing CDs are slowly becoming a thing of the past, Kenwood is in no hurry to abandon this useful device. Therefore, in a car radio originally from the 2016 model range, a CD drive is present in its usual place.

omnivorous

In addition to reading audio tracks from optical discs, the model supports audio playback from USB media, and also has an AUX output on the front panel for wired connection of external signal sources. The radio tape recorder is completely undemanding to the file format — it is equally good at reading MP3, WMA, AAC, FLAC and WAV tracks. And this is more than enough in the vast majority of cases.

Full set

In the arsenal of Kenwood KDC-300UV there are three pairs of line outputs marked Front, Rear and SW for each bundle of RCA connectors. In 2WAY mode, the outputs correspond to front, rear acoustics and a subwoofer, and in 3WAY, designed for systems with a per-channel 2-way front and a subwoofer, FRONT is reoriented to tweeters, REAR — to front midbass and only SW remains as it was. The audio sound controls are very rich and provide every opportunity to adjust the sound to the ear of a particular user.

Balance of characteristics

A balanced set of features sets the model in the light of the preferred purchase option, providing extensive adjustment of sound parameters and being, in fact, omnivorous in relation to the most common audio file formats. And if you consider that the whole thing is enclosed in a modern “wrapper” with a screen backlight that can be adjusted in any colour, then there are practically no equal car radios in its price category.
