Not quite "pro", but somewhat similar
The word "pro" in the name of the Kaiser NBC-250 Profi inverter should not mislead you. This is not a professional welding machine. It is designed for private users and beginners taking their first steps in welding. But this inverter does not dare to be called a “weakling”. You can evaluate its capabilities using the following example: cutting an eight-millimetre sheet of metal like a plasma will not work, but burning a hole in it is easy.
Almost no fuss
"Kaiser" cooks "softly" and cools well. It does not require a particularly powerful input. Ordinary 16 A circuit breakers do not knock out (but 10 A circuit breakers will not withstand the load from the inverter during operation).
There are no complaints about the hot start and afterburner functions. But the protection against sticking works strangely. With electrodes with a diameter of 3 – 4 mm, it works fine, but if you take a thinner or thicker one, it refuses. By the way, the maximum size of the electrodes with which the device works is 5 mm (not all inverters of this class are powerful enough to use them). If you need a digital display to control the current strength, then you can buy exactly the same device Kaiser NBC-250L Profi, which has this function.
A device that needs very little “tuning”
In general, the Kaiser NBC-250 Profi can be described as a small and light (only 3 kg) inverter with balanced performance. It has a moderate price and, judging by user reviews, decent quality. Complaints are met only on regular wires and tips, which are in the case along with the device. The cores in the cables have a normal cross section (10 mm²), but they are made of copper-plated aluminium (I would like pure copper or at least some copper alloy), and the “crocodiles” have a weak contact, due to which they burn out over time. All this has to be replaced with normal components over time.
