How to choose a welding machineKey information about modern inverters and semi-automatic welding machines

Machine for Welding by Various Methods and Techniques

For a workshop, car service, or construction site where MMA and MIG/MAG welding is needed, the Intertool WT-4011 machine is suitable. Its power is 4.8 kVA, so the equipment can be connected both to a household network and a medium-class generator. The maximum welding current reaches 180 A, and in MMA mode — 165 A. These parameters allow working with various metal products: from sheets 1.5 mm thick to massive channels with walls over 10 mm. The machine is suitable for welding structural and alloyed steels, as well as nickel, magnesium, and other metal-based alloys. In MMA mode, electrodes with diameters of 1.6–4 mm are used, and for MIG/MAG, regular or flux-cored wires with a thickness of 0.6–1 mm are suitable.

Everything Can Be Configured

The front panel hosts numerous regulators, buttons, and LED indicators that allow precise equipment adjustment for specific tasks. Rotary knobs control the adjustment of welding current, voltage, and wire feeding speed in the range of 1.5 to 9 m/min. The buttons allow selecting the type of welding and protective environment—active or inert gas, as well as the regular MMA mode. Additionally, the user can specify the diameter of the installed wire, enable the VRD function, and switch between two-stroke and four-stroke modes. The former is convenient for making short seams, while the latter is for extended welding.

Microprocessor control is complemented by features like "hot start", "anti-stick protection", and "arc force". The intensity of forcing is regulated by a separate rotary knob. This allows accounting for the characteristics of electrodes with rutile, basic, or cellulose coatings, and more accurately selecting parameters for manual welding of various metals.

Good Mid-Class Semi-Automatic

Intertool WT-4011 is suitable for craftsmen who want to achieve quality seams through precise welding parameter adjustments. Another advantage of the model is its stable operation at reduced voltage—the machine remains operational even at 160 V. This is especially useful in workshops, garages, and construction sites with unstable power supply. Meanwhile, class F insulation and a duty cycle of 60% indicate the model's belonging to the mid-class. Therefore, the equipment is not designed for long continuous operation under maximum load.
