RGB backlight

HyperX Predator RGB is purebred overclocking memory with RGB lighting and a catchy design. The aggressive metal heatsink with the HyperX logo is painted black, and the PCB is also black. As for the backlight, it is compatible with most RGB formats such as ASUS Aura, Gigabyte RGB Fusion and MSI Mystic Light.

Purebred overclocking memory

Thanks to Samsung's b-die chips, the modules have excellent overclocking potential that enthusiasts will appreciate. The 8 GB test instance runs at 4000 MHz right out of the box and easily switches to 4400 MHz mode with the help of a quick search of XMP profiles. If you switch to manual tuning mode and play with voltage and timings, you can achieve a total increase of 20 – 25%.

4400 MHz is not the limit

Another question is that for the average gamer this is a dubious undertaking, since finding a suitable motherboard will not be so easy — most gaming motherboards based on the Z390 chip work with a maximum of 4400 MHz memory. And motherboards like the Asus ROG MAXIMUS XI GENE that support 4800 MHz are pretty decent. Although, in fairness, HyperX Predator RGB also costs a lot and is unlikely to be of interest to anyone other than enthusiasts and modding enthusiasts.

Friendly with any cooler

As cool as it is, the Predator RGB comes in a standard size that makes it easy to fit into a busy case. Indeed, sometimes when buying RAM with cooling radiators, a problem arises when installing a large cooler — the tower blocks the first slot or the mounting brackets rest against the memory module.
