Gorenje K 17 TRE 1850 W 1.7 L stainless steel

The metal teapot of a successful Slovenian manufacturer is made in a stylish silver colour. It is designed for 1.7 liters, and the prefix "TRE" in the name indicates the presence of an electronic thermostat.

Heating selection and temperature maintenance

Using the buttons on the handle, in Gorenje K 17 TRE you can select one of 6 water heating modes: from 60 to 100 degrees in 10 °C increments and the baby food preparation mode — 40 °C. There is also a function to maintain the desired water temperature: activated by the corresponding button on the handle. The heating works for half an hour, after which the kettle automatically turns off to save energy.

Durable, comfortable and quiet

The stainless steel case will protect the Gorenje K 17 TRE from mechanical damage. Ease of use will be provided by a removable scale filter, a stand on which the kettle can rotate 360 °, a cord storage system under the “base” and overheating protection.

The power of 1850 W has a positive effect on the acoustic comfort: the device works quite quietly, besides, it has no sound indication. But a full volume of 1.7 liters boils longer than in more powerful counterparts. Minor shortcomings of the model include weak information content of the water level indicator (it is located under the handle), a rather easily soiled body (fingerprints remain).

The previous version of this electric kettle, Gorenje K 17 TR, is still on the market, where the control with the display is placed on the stand. This version does not have a heating mode up to 40 degrees, an audible indication of operation is provided (a rather loud squeak), and the power is 2.2 kW. In general, when creating the Gorenje K 17 TRE, the main shortcomings of its predecessor were taken into account, so the electric kettle looks quite convincing in its price category.
