The Japanese company Denon has been producing audio for home and professional use for over a hundred years. The DP-29F record player is an inexpensive (about $180), but stylish and solid model for those who are just discovering the world of vinyl.
Refined simplicity
The 300mm aluminium housing and platter ensure vibration-free playback. The player is offered in black and silver, the plastic cover is transparent, slightly tinted. Everything looks elegant and concise.
Full automatic
To play music, the tonearm does not need to be moved by hand, just press the button, and the player will lower the needle onto the record, the disc will begin to rotate, and when the record finishes playing, the tonearm will automatically return to its original position. Full automation eliminates accidental damage to the vinyl surface, which often occurs with manual operation.
The device plays records at speeds of 33 and 45 rpm. It is enough to connect the speaker system, since it does not have its own built-in player. But it has a switchable phono stage, which means that you can connect to an external, more advanced one or to an amplifier with a built-in phono stage, which, usually, is better. The player cannot also digitize records, but even here the problem can be solved, because the option is available in another manufacturer's model — DP-200USB.
Denon DP-29F attracts with brevity and simplicity, both in appearance and in cost. It does not transfer files to a PC, does not play old records from the 50s and 60s, but is fully automatic and not made of plastic, which means it will last a long time.
