Definitely, get it!
22 August 2010
I've been using a 15-bar Krups for 2 years, and recently bought the EC9 as a gift for my mom. When I got home, I of course turned it on to check how it works. My husband and I were pleasantly surprised. Even after our high-end expensive coffee maker, we noted this one as excellent. The coffee is good, and the cappuccino!!!!!!! Exceptional!!!!! The foam whipped perfectly on the first try using regular store-bought 2.5% milk! And that's a miracle! Anyone who uses non-automatic frothers will understand me; it's a very challenging task for coffee makers. My Krups XP4000 can't handle this, but this one made a 100% perfect foam! I bought it at an electronics store, there's no leaking, nothing drips. It's hard to give it away as a gift now:))))))))
Makes excellent cappuccino!
Relative downside - many plastic parts, but that's understandable, however, the price is reasonable.

It is very beautiful to make in a transparent cup, you look at the colorful layers and anticipate the taste of delicious aromatic cappuccino!!!!!

In half a day, I've already brewed ten servings, and all of them were super successful; the whole family has already had their fill of cappuccino, and I still want to brew more))) I enjoyed the preparation process)))
Today I bought it and now I've been making myself cappuccino for half a day ))))) Everything turned out great on the first try, it makes a lot of foam and it looks beautiful!
From the drawbacks, I noticed only one: not very durable plastic on the handles (I would like it to be sturdier!

usual model, nothing special

it took half a year to realize this is not espresso. Just consider what the water temperature should be for brewing aromatic espresso, and what the temperature of this model is if boiling water goes through coffee in the form of hissing steam. Guys, this is the same as a Turkish coffee pot, just more expensive, and it brews coffee in the Turkish style. It smells, yes, but the taste is crap. Compare the same coffee from a 15-bar machine and this dud, and you'll feel the difference—coffee has flavor in addition to aroma. Also, it doesn’t require finely ground espresso coffee because it clogs and heats up more, so it hisses, hence the worse taste. You can't brew coffee with boiling water. If you want espresso, go for a 15 bar machine. There, the water heats less, around 80-90 degrees, and the pump pushes it through the coffee, so the aromatic substances aren't boiled away; they all end up in the cup. Learn the technology for making genuine espresso.
compact, good cappuccino with rural full-fat milk
the coffee tastes bad.
