The name Corsair is probably familiar to anyone who is more or less versed in computers. After all, the backbone of the products of the American brand are PC components. Not the last place in the wide range of manufactured products is occupied by USB data drives, in particular, the Corsair Voyager Slider X2 flash drive.

The form factor of the storage medium is encrypted directly in the name of the model, namely in the word Slider. The slider flash drive is equipped with a retractable mechanism, thanks to which its connector is protected from possible mechanical damage, and the design is devoid of a permanently lost cap. Only the thickness of the case near the connector is not encouraging, because of which the drive sometimes blocks access to neighboring USB ports when they are located in a heap on board the device.

Performance indicators

The “boxed” performance of the drive (reading — 200 MB / s, writing — 90 MB / s) in fact turns into a speed of about 150 MB / s for writing data and 50 MB / s for reading files. These figures do not fully correspond to the claimed values, however, in real operating conditions, the data exchange rate pleases with its constancy. When you connect a flash drive via USB 2.0 interface, data is processed much more slowly — you have to rely on a maximum speed of about 30 MB / s, which is typical of all drives of the above-mentioned format.

The activity of the flash drive is signaled by a dim blue read / write indicator, which does not interfere with its flashing in a dark room. Additional "goodies" in the form of software for encryption or data recovery paired with a flash drive is not provided, but even without them it takes a worthy position among competitors, offering consumers a large capacity (128 GB) and stable performance.
