Lightning fast switches for gaming fans with extreme dynamics
Corsair has become the first manufacturer of gaming keyboards based on the new super-responsive Cherry MX Speed switches in silver. The K65 RGB Rapidfire Compact is a shortened esports model based on the new switches. They are designed for e-sportsmen, who were limited by the reaction speed of the classic red switches. It was they who became the basis of the new Cherry MX Speed. The main change was a 40% reduction in travel to the actuation point (1.2 instead of 2mm) and an increased polling rate. This allowed us to achieve impressive accuracy with minimal delays and allowed us to make a long series of clicks in a short period of time. For super-fast-paced games like Titanfall 2, Quake, and Valorant, this is a real advantage.
Monolith
As for the appearance of the K65 RGB Rapidfire Compact, it is still the same classic massive plate made of a single piece of aluminium, on which comfortable keycaps with a deepening for fingers are strung. In terms of comfort, it delivers exactly what you would expect from a good gaming keyboard. Due to the absence of a digital block, this model does not constrain the user when actively working with the mouse. The kit comes with 5 removable keycaps with an interesting texture that is easy to feel when printing blindly.
Detachable stand and individual key illumination
Among the additional features, there is a rather convenient removable arm rest with a soft-touch coating, additional multimedia keys and a pass-through USB port for connecting drives, headphones and recharging gadgets. Not bad implemented RGB-illumination with individual backlit keys and synchronization capabilities in the Corsair iCUE software. At the same time, the Corsair Gaming K65 RGB Rapidfire Compact has no obvious flaws. Of course, you can find fault with a couple of little things like a rattling spacebar stabilizer, but these are really little things that in no way spoil the impression of use.
