The asymmetric tread pattern of the ContiWinterViking 2 gives the tread increased rigidity, resulting in greater lateral stability and more precise steering. In the development of the tyre, "Three-Dimensional Lattice Sipes" were used - the mutual blocking of the edges of the sipes guarantees improved manoeuvrability compared to zigzag sipes, as well as increased service life and better grip compared to conventional sipes. Also, these tyres use Diamond Spike technology and a specially developed “northern” rubber compound - Nordic Silica, which significantly increased grip on snow and ice.
