How to Stay Warm in the Off-Season: 7 Useful Devices to Keep You CozyPractical solutions for keeping warm and comfortable.

Which heater to choose: pros and cons, comparison of different typesChoosing the type of heater, comparing the strengths and weaknesses of the options offered today
We got this heater for the security duty room. The old oil heater burnt out, and new oil heaters either cost a fortune or it's hard to look at them without tears. For a fifteen-meter room, its power is enough even during severe frosts. You won't get the warmth of Africa in such cases, of course, but a steady 17-18 degrees is achievable. Actually, for extreme cold weather, we have a solid fuel stove. But the attendants are lazy to use it, as it requires going outside for firewood and cleaning out the ash. Turning on the electric convector is much simpler, more convenient, and safer (no problems with drafts and risk of carbon monoxide poisoning). Besides the full two-kilowatt power, the convector can operate in reduced modes, emitting only 750 or 1250 watts of heat. We used these modes in September when it was 5-8 degrees at night. To maintain the temperature more or less accurately, the device has a thermostat. I wouldn't say it works perfectly, but it keeps the temperature within a plus-minus degree range. Despite being quite inexpensive, the manufacturer offers a 24-month official warranty. Made of thin metal, so it should be handled with care. It absorbs dust, which later produces unpleasant odors on the operating heating element. However, it's not just the burnt dust that causes the smell; the body itself also "scented" the room for quite some time when heated. There are no wheels for moving it around the room; it only comes with a stationary stand. The power cord is short. The convector's operation significantly dries out the air. |
