How does an expensive dash cam differ from a cheap one?Is it really possible to save money on buying a dash camera?

How to choose a dashcam? What are the key factors to consider when choosing a dashcam?
Model overview based on user reviews
The Celsior CS-1080 dashcam is a well-designed device that offers convenience with its easily accessible buttons and a decent screen resolution. The image quality is average but sufficient for capturing important details like car license plates and road signs. It records videos at a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels, although some users believe this is achieved through electronic scaling from 1280x720. The package includes essential accessories such as a car charger, miniUSB cable, and HDMI interface cable, along with a comprehensive instruction manual. Users appreciate its excellent price/quality ratio, positioning it between inexpensive generic models and more expensive branded ones. However, some have experienced occasional freezing when switching settings, and issues with the mount falling apart. Despite these minor drawbacks, it is considered a great model, especially for those who prioritize affordability without compromising too much on quality.
Pros
Cons
This is a decent dashcam with an excellent price/quality ratio. I would say it's positioned between inexpensive generic Chinese models and branded Chinese models that are known for quality. It's perfect for a buyer who is not ready to spend amounts of 100 USD and more, but also does not want to settle for the blatantly poor image quality of the cheapest models, like me. Made wisely, so it's convenient to use. The buttons located on the edges and the rear surface of the device press easily and clearly. The screen, also located at the back, has a decent resolution, a 16:9 aspect ratio, a 7-centimeter diagonal, and good brightness. The quality of the recorded image is average. The recorder can indeed record videos with a resolution of 1920 by 1080 pixels, but it's hard to call it highly detailed. However, car license plates, road signs, and other important details are clearly visible, and that's enough. The package may not be the richest, but it contains everything necessary for full-fledged operation. In addition to the usual bracket with a suction cup, a car charger, and a miniUSB cable, there's also a short HDMI interface cable, which makes it easy to connect the recorder to a TV. A decent instruction manual in Ukrainian is included. IMHO, the dashcam can only record at 1280x720 at 30 frames per second, while 1920x1080 is achieved through electronic scaling. I might be wrong, but comparing its 1080p and 720p videos leads me to this conclusion. It froze a few times when switching settings. |
I bought a registrar 2 years ago. It works ideally. He sees perfectly at night, license plates are also clearly visible The mount fell apart and had to be glued together. use Celsior CS-1080 month or more i recommend it should buy |
