The armrests adjust up and down, and side to side, but not back and forth. There are more metal parts than expected; the base is metal, although from the photos I thought it was plastic. Even the armrests have a metal base, with soft plastic overlay. The chair reclines very well, you can practically lie down. There was no rust on the metal, nor any seam issues. However, I think it's suitable for tall people; I'm 173-175 cm and it fit my height very well. If you're taller, the neck pillow might not work anymore.
