A simple jigsaw for simple tasks
The compact and lightweight Black & Decker BDCJS12N jigsaw is designed for simple and not too demanding tasks. It can easily cope with cutting wooden planks, laminate or plywood, cutting sheet plastic or thin metal, but this tool is not designed for very complex tasks. The limit of its capabilities is DIY crafts and not too intensive work in the home workshop.
No problems with files
The kit includes one saw blade for quick sawing of wood and plywood. Additional files for working on metal, plastic or chipboard must be purchased separately. The Black&Decker BDCJS12N is suitable for saws with T-shaped ("Bosch") and U-shaped ("American") shanks — that is, the two most common types of equipment for electric jigsaws. Therefore, you will not have problems with the selection and purchase of saw blades. The keyless replacement system allows you to remove and install files without the use of tools.
USB charging
The BDCJS12N jigsaw is part of the Black&Decker GoPak system. In addition to a jigsaw, it includes a drill driver, a vibrating grinder, a glue gun and a stapler. All of them are powered by a 12-volt battery, which is not charged with a charger, but via a USB port.
The Black&Decker BDCJS12N does not come with a battery. Therefore, if you do not plan to buy any other GoPak series tools, you should look at other cordless models or choose a regular corded jigsaw.
