Looks stronger than it looks I think it appeals to those who haven't had other high chairs. This is our second one, and it only brings disappointment. Feeding a child under one in it is not for the faint-hearted. Let's start with the fact that the lower strap sticks out practically from the end of the chair, and even I could fit in and strap myself. For the child, there are 15 cm of space from the strap to the back, and they wriggle and slide down. The tray attaches and locks, but it is positioned a maximum of 40 cm away from the child! By the time you bring the spoon to their mouth, you can spill it from toe to nose. It's also impossible to strap them in to play with toys: the tray-"feeder" is very far, and a strapped 9-month-old can only reach its edge, not to mention playing. The tray-"feeder" itself is very small; even not every bowl fits in it, let alone placing toys on it to play. The three backrest positions also "please" - in the third position, you can tilt the child back another 10 centimeters. Not to mention the little one, even the eldest daughter at 2.5 years old struggles to eat with a spoon by herself without being strapped in, sitting 20 cm away from the backrest to eat somewhat neatly. In the "play table and chair" state, there's also little pleasant: the table is small, there's no border to prevent pencils from flying off, and additionally, the four leg holes don't bring joy. We received such a set of chair-table as a gift and this is exactly the case when the gift came in handy. It was already becoming uncomfortable to eat on my mother’s lap, and busy mother’s hands are another problem when preparing complementary foods. My husband and I were already looking at and asking the price of chairs, but we were leaning towards high frame models, and then we got a transformer. I doubted whether it would be stable and safe enough, but in practice everything turned out to be much better than in the pictures. He first sat on it at the age of eight months, which is the age when independence begins to emerge. Therefore, there were concerns about the child's safety on such a high structure. I was worried for nothing, the chair is securely attached, it does not wobble, and it cannot fall. The seating is comfortable, my son liked it, and the safety straps, which we fastened as a rule, did not bother him at all, they rather sparked his interest. The cover on the chair can be removed and cleaned-washed-laundered, in short, there are no problems with it. I also need to say a few words about the great double tray, which attaches to the armrests. The second part of the transformer - the base-table stands on wheels, so moving the entire "slide" is quite simple. To prevent it from moving on its own, locks are provided on the wheels. Despite the apparent bulkiness of the assembled structure, it does not take up as much space as fully extended frame sliding models. This is important since our kitchen is small. Unlike frame sliding chairs, this transformer cannot be quickly and easily folded for a compact state, and when we moved to my grandmother for a couple of weeks, it strained. |
