Excellent mid-range laptops from Asus, designed for students, office workers, freelancers, and home users. Unlike the Vivobook models with OLED panels, this series offers a practical balance between image quality and long battery life. The screen is a 15.6-inch IPS matrix with a Full HD resolution and a refresh rate of 144 Hz. The color coverage of 45% of the NTSC color space provides adequate color rendition with moderate power consumption, and the high refresh rate makes the interface smoother; however, the image quality is average and definitely not suitable for professional work.
The body thickness is 18 mm, and the weight is 1.7 kg. The durable body meets the military standard MIL-STD-810 and is designed for frequent travel. The autonomy reaches up to 19 hours, and fast charging allows for quick recharging in short periods. Additional features include a 3D face scanner for quick login, a mechanical webcam shutter, support for Microsoft Phone Link for synchronization with a smartphone, a comfortable keyboard with soft monochrome backlighting, an enlarged touchpad with gesture control support.
Depending on the specific modification, the Asus Vivobook S16 M3607HA may be equipped with a classic 6-core AMD Ryzen 5 processor or a more powerful and faster 8-core Ryzen 7. The graphics processing is handled by integrated Radeon 760M/780M GPUs, which are significantly more powerful than the Vega series graphics, support ray tracing, and overall provide a performance level comparable to discrete GeForce GTX 1650 and Radeon RX 580 graphics cards. The amount of DDR5 RAM is 16 GB in all cases, and the maximum SSD capacity can reach up to 1024 GB.

It was chosen for simple everyday tasks (at most - playing a platformer or opening a simple drawing in AutoCAD), with the expectation that it will easily handle these tasks even after 5+ years. Design and battery life were also important factors in the selection. Sleek minimalist design, metal body elements, eye-friendly screen with a frequency of 144Hz. Full-size keyboard with a nice key travel and good backlighting, and a huge touchpad. The battery life and charging via Type-C are also pleasing. There were practically no issues with the OS installation and setup. Additionally, part of the box can be cleverly folded to transform into a laptop stand. I haven't noticed any unexpected drawbacks or problems so far. The only thing that caught my attention was the absence of a wireless network driver when installing Windows. This issue is resolved by installing the latest drivers from the manufacturer's website, which is something you need to do for all the hardware after purchase anyway. |
