Model overview based on user reviews
The Ariete Vintage 1389/13 espresso coffee maker is praised for its ability to brew delicious espresso, thanks to its high but not excessive extraction, resulting in an aromatic and rich drink. Users appreciate its original retro design and the fact that it works with both ground and pod coffee. However, the cappuccinatore is noted for being strongly splashing, which can be challenging for milk-based drinks. The machine is described as durable and practical, with a simple, manual operation that suits those starting their journey as home baristas. Despite some limitations, such as the lack of pre-wetting for the coffee tablet and a thermometer that is more decorative than functional, it is considered a good choice for its price, especially for those who appreciate its vintage aesthetic.
Pros

Cons

The coffee maker is not bad for its price, overall rating 7 out of 10!

It was purchased for 6990 at "Globus," and for that price, it's the best choice in my opinion for those who are starting their journey as a home barista, wishing to try and take the first steps in making coffee drinks, understanding the methodology of beverage preparation in a portafilter coffee machine, without spending a large sum of money. The water temperature claimed by the manufacturer, regulated by a thermostat during preparation, is approximately 100 degrees Celsius, which is hard to verify, but if that's the case, it's quite high. Nevertheless, if you get the hang of it, you can brew pretty good coffee.
Household boiler-type espresso coffee machine, simple to operate, fully manual, retro design - beautiful (for those who appreciate it). 180 ml boiler, 15 bar pump, easy to use, large basket for 18 g of coffee, as well as a small one for a single serving, basket with a valve. With practice, you can brew decent espresso.
No pre-wetting of the tablet, those who use a portafilter will understand. The built-in thermometer is purely for show; you can't determine anything from it. In my case, it hardly worked properly at all. If you believe the manufacturer, 100 degrees is too high a temperature for making coffee. There is no setting for the volume of water dispensed; you have to determine it by time or visually in the cup, which is inconvenient.

Nice espresso machine with original retro design

Coffee makers differ not only in appearance, functions and price. They brew different types of coffee. Not all manufacturers set up machines in such a way that the extraction of taste from the grains occurs in an optimal way. I think the Italians are the best at it. It is not for nothing that almost all types of coffee have Italian names)) But, you may ask, what do Italians have to do with this Chinese coffee maker? Yes, most directly! It is designed by Italian engineers. In general, I bought it for a reason. First, I tried coffee from the same machine that my friend bought, and only then I ordered one for myself.
Brews truly delicious espresso. But there's one nuance that manufacturers of such machines often forget to mention. To achieve really high-quality and properly tempered coffee, the cold coffee maker needs to be preheated by running a "blank cycle". This involves running a cup of hot water through the portafilter and filter without coffee. Only after this operation can you brew real espresso, and this machine does it well, it's been tested. It provides high but not excessive extraction, making the drink aromatic and rich, but not too bitter. In short, your stomach will be grateful for such a drink, as it mostly suffers from an excess of bitterness in improperly brewed coffee. As for the coffee maker, it is a durable and practical machine with a very original design. By the way, its appearance was the second main argument in favor of this model. It works with both ground and pod coffee, but I prefer the former.
Strongly splashing and desperately soaring cappuccinatore. I prefer coffee without milk, but my wife is still trying to tame it. It turns out with varying degrees of success))
