The outer part of the device is crafted from dense polyurethane (TPU) with a matte texture that is resistant to fingerprints and minor scratches. The interior lining of soft microfiber prevents damage to the iPad's body and display. The Apple Smart Keyboard Folio (2018) for iPad Pro 12.9 2022 M2 and iPad Air 13 2024 M2 connects via the Smart Connector interface (three contacts on the back panel of the iPad). This interface provides instant data exchange without the delays typical of Bluetooth. The keyboard is powered directly from the tablet's battery, and its power consumption is so low that it does not significantly impact battery life. A system of neodymium magnets integrated into the back wall ensures automatic centering of the tablet and secure fixation in working positions.
