Sturdy and reliable saw

With a 2000 W motor, the AL-KO EKS 2000/35 saw has a good power reserve. At least when performing relatively simple work (like cutting down trees in the garden or cutting logs and boards for firewood), it is quite difficult to “strangle” it. But even if you succeed, the thermal protection will instantly work, which will prevent the engine from overheating and burning out.

The tool is easy to use, but a little heavy (5.8 kg is quite a lot for an electric saw, because even among AL-KO chainsaws there are lighter models). The weight of the device turned out to be so significant due to the large margin of safety inherent in the design.

Simplicity is not a vice

There is nothing extraordinary or high-tech about the design of the saw itself. This is a relatively simple (and therefore reliable) technique. It has a quality bar (350 mm long) and an Oregon chain. There is a chain brake, of course, but other “bells and whistles”, like keyless tension, are completely absent. Chain lubrication is automatic. Oil is used sparingly, but sometimes even too much (since the oil supply cannot be regulated, in cold weather, when it thickens and pumps worse, problems with chain lubrication may occur).

A good chainsaw under $100 is real

In the sub-$100 electric chainsaw segment, it's hard to find a better tool than the AL-KO EKS 2000/35. With it, you can cut old trees, thin out young trees, chop firewood, saw boards — perform any tasks that may arise for the owner of a country house or cottage. As an alternative, you can consider a more powerful saw AL-KO EKS 2400/40 112808 with a 2400 W motor and a larger 400 mm bar.
