New ultrabook in an old case

The new Swift 3x ultrabook is a slightly lighter and modernized version of the regular Swift 3. It is the first laptop in the world to feature an integrated Intel Iris Xe Max graphics core, which we don't know much about yet. Most likely, data on Iris Xe Max will become available only after the official presentation of Intel.

Based on Intel Tiger Lake

The top-end Acer Swift 3x is powered by the Intel Core i7-1165G7, a new quad-core power-efficient Tiger Lake U processor designed specifically for ultrabooks. Each of its cores operates in the frequency range from 2.8 GHz to 4.7 GHz, and the turbo boost of all cores simultaneously allows you to raise the operating frequencies to 4.1 GHz. The top modification of the device has 16 GB of RAM and a 1 TB NVMe SSD.

Display for work

In terms of display, Swift models have always been somewhere in the middle between “excellent” and “so-so”. Swift 3x is no exception. It was equipped with a 14-inch IPS-matrix with Full HD resolution and good colour reproduction (72% coverage of the NTSC colour space), the very thing for a working ultrabook. The frames around the display are moderately thin, according to the manufacturer, the display occupies 84% of the area of the entire top cover. In keeping with the best traditions of the series, the laptop case turned out to be quite compact (322.8x212.2x18 mm) and light (1.37 kg). Of the unusual, we note the hinge, which, when opening the laptop, slightly raises the back of the case so that hot air is better dissipated.

Strengths

The strengths of the Swift 3x include wireless Wi-Fi 6, a capacious battery with fast charging (according to Acer, it holds a charge up to 17.5 hours), a USB 3.2 gen2 port with Thunderbolt support, and an integrated fingerprint scanner that allows you to quickly log into system without a password.
