Model overview based on user reviews
The Accu-Chek Instant is a compact and stylish blood glucose monitor that offers a range of features, including Bluetooth connectivity for syncing with a phone and a memory capacity for 720 measurements. It comes with a complete set to start measuring immediately, including a lancing device and test strips. Users appreciate the convenient and affordable test strips, which require only a small blood sample. However, some users note that the device may be challenging for elderly individuals to operate, particularly when transferring data to a phone. Despite this, the glucometer is praised for its quick operation and portability, making it suitable for both home use and travel. The device is powered by two CR2032 batteries, which have proven to be long-lasting. While the soft case is less preferred compared to the Active model, the overall functionality and ease of use make it a valuable tool for monitoring blood sugar levels.
Pros
Cons
A small, stylish gadget that helps monitor a person's blood sugar level. It runs on batteries and can connect to software on a phone. It comes with a complete set to start measuring right away, including a lancing device and test strips. It will be difficult for elderly people to operate it and transfer information to the journal on their phone, and the device's memory has limitations on the number of entries in the history. |
The Accu-Chek Instant glucometer is a very compact and convenient device that truly pleases with its simplicity. It's small—almost pocket-sized—and doesn't take up space. It measures blood sugar levels quickly and clearly, with no lengthy settings required: insert the test strip, prick your finger, and see the result in a second. It's really easy to work with, even without special experience or skills; everything is intuitively clear. It's important that this is a German device, and you immediately feel it in the build: nothing wiggles, everything is assembled tightly and reliably. The small size isn't a compromise on quality, but rather an advantage: it's hard to imagine anything more convenient for daily measurements. Of course, this is a medical device, and all nuances of interpreting the results should be assessed by a doctor, but the measurement process itself is easy, quick, and without unnecessary stress. For regular monitoring of blood sugar levels, it's an excellent option, not intimidating in size or complexity of use. Compactness, accuracy, For me, no. |
I've been using it for about a year. The Accu-Chek Softclix lancing device included in the package is familiar from the Active line. It's convenient to use, thanks to the test strips. Only a small amount of blood is needed, and it spreads immediately once you touch the drop. It is powered by two 2032 batteries, and I haven't had to replace them yet, despite measuring glucose once a day. Sometimes 2-3 times. Convenient test strips that are also cheaper than the test strips of other models, even from the same glucose meter manufacturer. And no need to change any chips. Soft case... was more liked and was more comfortable in the Active model. |

Although the device is small, it has powerful functionality, including Bluetooth for syncing with your phone and saving measurement history. Unfortunately, it's not very well made or clear, so elderly people may find it quite difficult to figure out. However, they may not need the electronic journal, but it's not an essential item; you can use it like a regular glucometer, prick your finger, apply blood to the indicator, insert it into the device, and wait for the result.
The analyzer works quickly, and test strips are included in the package. Also included is a thick instruction manual, a lancing device, and a carrying case, which is convenient if you need to take it with you on the go.
Overall, it's a decent device that seems to show adequate values, which can be used both at home and on small trips, as it weighs almost nothing and can simply be tossed into a bag.
