The Tectal Race MIPS Helmet has been a favorite of ours for years now, providing us with a comfortable, airy feel on the trail while keeping us protected from the occasional tumble or low-hanging tree more→branch. For the latest version of the Tectal Race, POC phases out its SPIN technology in favor of an integrated MIPS system developed specifically for POC helmets. This sheds some weight while still offering protection against rotational impact forces.

To protect our head from choss, we clip on the Petzl Boreo Climbing Helmet. The thick outer shell holds up against abuse in our pack and on the wall, while the streamlined build keeps bulk to a minimu more→m. As we fight the pump, our building heat escapes through the fixed vents, and when our climber pulls on something they shouldn't, the strong foam helps absorb the impact.

The Pro-Rugged 2 Elbow Guard features SmartFlex pads that stay flexible as you ride and harden on impact to protect your elbow. Riding down rocky, tree filled trails is easier knowing you are protecte more→d from sharp items you may accidentally come in contact with. Designed for both safety and comfort, the Pro-Rugged 2 is made with double-knit compression fabric, a ventilated mesh, and a top and bottom gripper to keep the pad in place during your ride.

Featuring a low-profile in-mold design, the Code doesn't skimp on durability while creating a lightweight product. The polycarbonate shell and EPS liner bring us a high level of protection, with an in more→corporated Koroyd material that aids in impact absorption as well as airflow. The MIPS System uses slip-plane technology, reducing rotational force common in angular impacts, while tons of ventilation regulates airflow to keep us from overheating.
