Protective Gear Sets3838

We live for the all-day rides, carving our way up dramatic canyons, cruising through miles of wild vineyards, and along coastal highways — but admittedly, we're not always so lucky to have the time. O more→ften times we're limited to our daily commute to get in the weekday miles, and crave equipment that is versatile enough to bounce back and forth from one to the other. Designers at Smith seem to have received our asks, and answered thoroughly with the Smith Network MIPS Helmet. All new for 2018, the Network Helmet finds an uncanny balance of style, versatility, and performance, packing in MIPS and Koroyd technology to protect, with modern design and ventilation to keep you looking, and feeling co…

Extensive coverage meets superior ventilation with the POC Coron Air MIPS. It's a helmet that's been in our gear closet for a while, and we choose it over most full-face helmets when we're racing down more→the mountain and putting it all on the line. See, while most full-face helmets are built with an EPS liner that's really only rated for a single impact, the POC Coron is built with a tough fiberglass shell and a multiple-impact EPP liner. This gives us an extra level of protection so we can keep charging through the riding season with confidence. For the most recent model, POC phases out their SPIN technology in favor of a MIPS liner to protect against lower-speed rotational impact forces.
When we're on the wall, the last thing we want to be worried about is our noggin's safety. Luckily, the Syncro Helmet offers hefty protection to absorb impact outside of not sending.

While full face helmets undoubtedly provide more protection than their half-dome siblings, it often comes with a penalty in the weight department. IXS' Trigger Full-Face aims to remove the weight deba more→te from your helmet choice, providing all of the tech you want at a minuscule weight.
Style never quits. Giro knows that, and that's why they made the Bexley MIPS Helmet. It reaches the height of technology and aesthetics with the result being a top-tier urban cycling helmet with an in more→tegrated rear light for added visibility. And, did we mention the retractable eyeshield? That bad boy will keep the sun out of our eyes and the wind off our faces so we can ride in comfort.
Our kids ski and they want a comfortable helmet just like us, so we outfit them with the Smith Glide MIPS Helmet. This helmet has a nice fuzzy interior so our kiddos stay warm while staying safer with more→the added MIPS shell.
Style meets ventilation for total comfort in all-mountain applications in the new Smith Session MIPS Helmet. This all-new cranium coverage keeps your noggin on lockdown with a combination of Smiths Ko more→royd technology and MIPS, shielding you from impacts both direct and oblique, so you can charge through rowdy rock gardens while staying ventilated as you weave your way through technical switchbacks to the top for round two. And Smith doesn't hold back on the good looks either, with a modern and sleek style that falls neatly between the previously loved Rover and Forefront, giving just a little more coverage than its cross-country cousin, but with less bulk than the enduro-ready Forefront.
We choose the G1 MIPS Helmet for our road rides because the ventilation and aerodynamic profile make it an efficient option for logging miles. 22 total vents keep us cool and Lazer’s Rollsys retention more→system provides a 360degree fit and comfort in a lightweight design that adjusts from the top of the helmet and away from our hair. For added peace of mind, a MIPS layer in the G1 redirects rotational forces in the event of an impact.
