When we head to the resort, we strap Smith's Level Helmet to our dome every time we click in. This is one of Smith's newer, lighter helmets designed with a hybrid Aerocore construction and honeycomb-s more→haped Koroyd inserts to increase levels of protection while minimizing weight. The hybrid construction combines tough ABS with flyweight in-mold technology for a light, protective fit.
Giro based the design of its Dime kids’ helmet on its adult helmet—the Quarter. The Dime is comprised of an ABS shell with impact-absorbing EPS foam inside. The interior padding can be adjusted to per more→fect the Dime’s fit. The Dime also has eight air vents to cool Junior’s head. The best part of the Giro Dime, however, is that it’s completely at home on four wheels or two, so the only time your little ripper will take the Dime off will be bedtime. Oh, and dinner.

Busy roads, swerving descents, and pothole-ridden paths leave us thankful for our Omne Air MIPS Helmet. It pushes us to go further without fear thanks to protective features and quality comfort. The O more→mne Air's liner density and thicker core defense provide all-round protection, and a multitude of ventilation channels enhance an airy feel for comfort.
Full-face helmets offer the best level of protection for mountain biking, but are often cumbersome and lack the ventilation needed for anything other than downhill. Enter the Stage Mips Helmet from Tr more→oy Lee Designs. An impressively low weight combined with extensive ventilation make the Stage Mips our choice for enduro-style riding or racing, where technical descents worthy of a full-face helmet are mixed in with climbs and long transfer stages. It's still downhill certified, ensuring it can hold up to high-energy impacts if you're riding DH or bike park, but the lightweight and highly-ventilated design make it much more enjoyable for the rides when you have to earn your descent first.
Before heading out on our next road ride, trail adventure, or daily commute, we strap on the Bell Falcon XR MIPS Helmet to keep our noggin protected. It features a lightweight, durable fusion in-mold more→polycarbonate shell with MIPS Evolve technology for added protection against rotational forces in the event of off-center impacts. For a snug, secure fit, we tighten down the Fidlock buckles and no-twist tri-glides.
Protection at every angle is what the G-Form Pro-X3 Knee Guards bring to the table. Built with proprietary SmartFlex technology, these knee pads cover impact areas forgotten by other pads. Impressive more→impact foam hardens on impact, meaning it’s plenty flexible while we’re riding but extra strong during those learning moments. The slip-on pad is lightweight and extremely comfortable, shedding moisture quickly so that the pad doesn’t slide around while they ride.
Smith's road helmet lineup has never been one to disappoint, and this year is no different, with the bar being moved a little higher once again with a new helmet in the mix — the Trace MIPS Helmet. Th more→is pinnacle helmet in the road collection features all of the tech you would expect from Smith, like its Koroud protection that fully surrounds the helmet to provide next-level protection, while teaming up with internal air channels so intake as much air, and keep your scalp feeling cool when you're challenging yourself up new climbs, and soaring down canyon roads. The Trace features 18 large vents that are strategically placed to create an intake and exhaust system, pulling cool air in, and giving it…
The Giro Artex MIPS Helmet takes a sleek and compact road-race inspired design, and pairs with a removable visor, substantial ventilation, and extended head coverage that's perfect for trail riding or more→grinding out long miles on mixed surface roads. Add in MIPS technology for added protection against rotational impact forces and you've got a pretty solid helmet for just over $100. Giro constructs the helmet using their In-Mold process that fuses a tough polycarbonate shell to impact-absorbing EPS foam inside the mold, resulting in a lightweight yet strong helmet with extensive ventilation and minimal bulk. On the inside of the EPS liner, Giro uses their Roc Loc 5 Air MIPS retention system for …
