Functions

The weather station detects outside and room temperature, indoor and outdoor humidity, wind speed and dew point temperature. There is a built-in electronic barometer that helps to make a weather forecast for the next 12 hours, but the readings are not displayed on the screen — only the trend of changes in atmospheric pressure. All measurements are saved, so through time you can see the history from one hour up to a whole year. The weather is displayed as six icons: sunny, partly cloudy, cloudy, rain, storm or snow, and the small wind turbine on the display rotates depending on the wind speed outside. Moreover, the speed is displayed in different colours: blue — up to 20 km/h, yellow — 20-30 km/h, orange — 30-50 km/h and red — more than 50 km/h. That is, you can determine windy weather not only by numbers, but also by colour. Although this function will not be particularly useful for our regions, since such strong gusts of wind are rare here.

In the settings, you can set limit signals for temperature, humidity and wind speed: if the indicators are above or below these limits, the device will report this. Another useful feature is how the temperature feels, taking into account wind, humidity, etc.

Colour display

The station itself has a fairly large colour display with a diagonal of 19 cm, so all the information on it is clearly visible. In addition to temperature, humidity, wind speed and their maximum and minimum values, the screen displays the date and day of the week (and in 6 languages) and time. You can set an alarm, and the button to turn it on and off is located in a convenient place — in front, right below the screen.

Depending on the lighting in the house, there are two levels of backlight brightness to choose from. But note that the device can work both from the network and from batteries. In the first case, the backlight is on all the time, in the second case it turns on only for 5 seconds to save battery. Therefore, it is better to use both power sources, because the batteries will be able to ensure the operation of the station during power outages.

External sensor

The external sensor, which is installed on the street, is quite large. Before buying, carefully choose a place for its installation: on a flat surface or on a wall or pole, but always at a height of at least 3 metres from other objects so that nothing interferes with gusts of wind. Fortunately, the kit comes with a bracket that rotates 90 degrees. In addition, it must be periodically cleaned of debris that affects the accuracy of the readings, so it should be easy to access.

The transmitter runs on two batteries, which are not included. But he has a large range — 80 metres. The setup is automatic, there should be no difficulties with this.
