Calcium maintenance-free car batteries of South Korean production, manufactured by Hyundai Sungwoo Solite. The CMF series represents a strong mid-range option among traditional lead-acid starter batteries. Models in the series are assembled in Asian form factor cases with terminals flush with the top surface. The positive polarity changes location depending on the specific battery modification (right or left).
Available for sale are Solite JIS CMF capacities ranging from 65 Ah to 100 Ah, covering the needs of the vast majority of car owners. The batteries in this series have an extended lifespan, reliably withstand a large number of charge-discharge cycles, and demonstrate resistance to vibrations and shocks. The service life of the batteries in the lineup has been increased due to the use of super-polymers and low-resistance converter-separators in their construction. Importantly, models from this family are often supplied as the factory option for many South Korean and Japanese cars. CMF series offers reliability in a mid-range price, extended lifespan, robust against vibrations, widely used as factory batteries for numerous cars.
I currently have a second Solite 105D31L battery. It's 5 years old. Today, for the first time during this period, the battery couldn't start the diesel engine. It's -20°C outside (it was -29°C at night). It was probably affected by the fact that yesterday evening I was stuck in traffic for about an hour with the lights on. Plus, I've never charged it at home, and it's naturally sulfated. So, I've brought it home and will try to restore it. The first battery was the same. It lasted 7 years, then one cell shorted out during winter - that's when I replaced it with the current one. The price/quality ratio is quite satisfactory. I didn't notice. Bought for a Suzuki Jimny in June 2018, it worked exactly for the warranty period. Then in September, suddenly, the car wouldn't start. Jump-started it from another car, charged the battery. It lasted exactly a week and the story repeated itself. And it wasn't even cold yet, and the battery never fully discharged.
