From the press release:

BONUS VIEW (Final Standard Profile) Technology

BONUS VIEW is an advanced technology that enhances the interactive experience of Blu-ray* added to BD-ROM Profile 1 Ver.1.1. It opens access to new features, such as Picture in Picture (allows you to display an auxiliary window on the background of the main image). There are four modes of using the function, among them: Announcer, Backstage, Animation Studio and Sound Mixing.

"Commentator"

Blu-ray discs are a step ahead of DVDs in terms of the audio commentary they offer on the main recording, such as an interview with the film's director. The Commentator feature allows the director or actors to appear in the auxiliary window (as if they were standing in front of the screen) and point to objects in the main image, commenting on a particular scene.

"Behind the scenes"

This feature gives you access to additional information about people, places, or objects found in movies recorded on Blu-ray discs. Simply select any of the selected objects on the screen using the remote control, and an auxiliary window will open with information about this object. For example, it can be explanations for the actors' costumes and accessories, or a story about the restaurant where the action takes place, etc.

"Animation Studio"

When playing a dubbed video, such as a full-length movie, this function allows you to watch the voice actors in the auxiliary window. You can see their gestures and facial expressions and find out what is happening behind the scenes by looking into the “kitchen” of the film studio, hidden from prying eyes.

"Sound Mixing"

The sound mixing function allows you to select the soundtrack to listen to: the soundtrack to the image in the main or auxiliary window, or both soundtracks at once.

Perspective possibilities of BONUS VIEW technology (Final Standard Profile)

A number of additional functionalities are expected to be introduced in the future. For example, you can purchase and download additional content from the website to an SD Memory Card, and then play a Blu-ray disc movie and data from the SD Memory Card at the same time.

PHL Reference Chroma Plus Colour Processor

PHL Reference Chroma Plus upsamples the colour information in decoded video signals. Based on Panasonic's exclusive technologies, this innovative integrated circuit reproduces the fine details and nuances of Blu-ray video streams recorded with a high-quality image compression system. It generates images with all the clarity and depth that the Blu-ray format is capable of.

P4HD (Pixel Precision Progressive Processing for HD) technology

To fully enjoy the brilliant HD picture recorded on a Blu-ray disc, you need a player capable of reproducing high quality progressive scan images, conveying motion smoothly and preventing jagged diagonal lines. The P4HD processor used in the DMP-BD60 processes more than 15 billion pixels per second, applying the best processing methods to every piece of video information on disk. The result is exceptionally high image resolution.

1080/24p signal

The DMP-BD60 provides 1080/24p signal transmission via HDMI. It reproduces video images recorded on Blu-ray discs in their original 24p format without the need for conversion. You will see films the same as in a real cinema.

Support for high bit rate audio codecs

The DMP-BD60 Blu-ray player supports HDMI v1.3, so it can output high bit rate audio (Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD) recorded on Blu-ray discs. When connected to a compatible AV receiver, the sound quality required for a studio master recording is achieved.

VIERA Link control system

VIERA Link is a function to control home theater, Blu-ray player, DVD recorder and HD camcorder connected to VIERA TV via HDMI interface. Control is carried out using one remote control from the VIERA TV.
