The plus version of the Michelin CrossClimate year-round tyre further boosted the all-season performance. Safe operation of the model is possible in the temperature range from -5 °С to +40 °С.

V-tread

The Michelin CrossClimate Plus features a directional symmetrical pattern with a V-shaped arrangement of narrow function blocks. Three-dimensional sipes in the tread blocks are cut to the full depth, thus forming long “claws”. They are the tyre and grabs the slippery road. However, in comparison with the “thoroughbred” winter Hook-and-loop, the sipe density of the tyre is negligible, which casts doubt on its quality in winter travel conditions.

Drainage properties

What you should definitely not be suspicious of is the water drainage properties of the tyre. Water from the contact patch of the tyre with the roadway is removed in the blink of an eye. This means that the models are not afraid of either hydroplaning or slashplaning. Special praise deserves a rubber compound with a high content of silica and rubber, due to which the elasticity of the tyre is maintained over a wide temperature range.

Year-round "planting"

Year-round "pluses" from Michelin can be operated with a residual tread depth of less than four millimetres. Moreover, as it wears out, the tyre retains driving characteristics, low noise and smooth running. For harsh winters, the model can hardly be called a suitable option. And if the sub-zero temperature in the edge of your habitat rarely drops below zero, Michelin CrossClimate Plus will look appropriate on the wheels of a car throughout the year.
