From the press release:
Eagle F1 Asymmetric summer tyres are designed to replace the popular Eagle F1 GSD3 tyres. The Eagle F1 Asymmetric features reinforced sidewalls and provides more traction than before. During the development, Active Cornergrip Technology was used. A key technological improvement that was used in the creation of Asymmetric is the inclusion of a reinforcing component on one side of the tyre. This technology will allow the tyre to create more reliable road contact across the entire width of the tread and, therefore, provide better cornering grip. By changing the tyre track, the weight of the car is better distributed: it is shifted to the outside of the tyre, and the grip on the outside of the tread is increased, while the grip on the inside is reduced. Goodyear called this technology the Active Cornergrip Technolog and reports that it results in reduced deflection during cornering.
