Bridgestone Blizzak LM005 tyre rolled out on winter roads at sunset in 2019. The model is intended for cars and crossovers that live in relatively mild winters.

Important bet

The main emphasis in the model is placed on excellent grip on snow and ice, as well as on the effective transmission of traction and braking forces when driving on wet roads. In terms of "wet" grip, the tyre is considered one of the best in the class of winter friction tyres, which is confirmed by the high prizes of the model in independent tests of automotive "shoes".

Elastic rubber compound

The tyre behaves stably on slippery roads with active manoeuvring, retains softness and elasticity in a wide temperature range. This is achieved thanks to the Nano Pro-tech compound with a high content of silicon dioxide (colloquially, silica). The tyre tread fits snugly to the roadway, providing low rolling resistance and, as a result, economical fuel consumption of the car.

V-shaped design

The tread of the Bridgestone Blizzak LM005 is made according to a V-shaped pattern. With their sharp edges, the tread blocks tenaciously hold on to the roadway, and excess moisture and melted snow are instantly removed from the contact spot through hydroevacuation channels. The 2D design of the medial sipes and the 3D design of the sipes in the shoulders provide better traction in icy conditions. The only “but” is the expensive price tag of the tyre, which more than pays off in the long run with its stable driving properties, ride comfort and high mileage until the tread wears out.
