Exotic Beast
Apacer Commando DDR4 is a rare example of overclocking RAM without RGB lighting, which, firstly, not everyone likes, and secondly, doesn't synchronize with all motherboards (for example, Biostar AM4 can't). Such memory modules should probably be added to the conditional computer "Red Book" as an endangered but very valuable species that needs protection.
For Shooter Fans
The thick-walled metal heatsinks of the Commando DDR4 are styled in military fashion. The manufacturer claims the similarity with the Heckler & Koch G36c assault rifle, which often appears in various shooter games. But to us, they more closely resemble bolters from the fictional Warhammer 40K universe.
A Pair for Every Memory
The Commando DDR4 is sold exclusively in sets of two 8GB or 16GB sticks. Factory frequencies start at 2400 and go up to 3466 MHz. The operating voltage is 1.2 V for the lower frequencies and 1.35 V for the higher ones. The timings, or delays, range from 16-16-16-36 to 16-18-18-38 (with other manufacturers at the same frequency, timings are often higher).
Astronomical Overclocking
Beneath the heatsinks are Samsung B-die chips, which have arguably the best overclocking potential on the market. Thus, even the junior 2400 MHz version of the modules can be manually overclocked, with a good motherboard, to the frequency of the senior models — 3466 MHz. The higher versions, built on selected chips, can reach frequencies of 3600 – 3733 MHz. By the way, Apacer Commando DDR4 memory modules have even more brutally styled siblings — the Apacer Blade DDR4. The common drawback of both Commando and Blade is that their tall heatsinks may hinder the installation of a tower CPU cooler.
