A family of affordable ultrabooks with silent passive cooling and high-quality 14-inch displays based on FullHD resolution IPS matrices with the widest viewing angles. They differ in compact dimensions of the aluminium-plastic case 15 mm thick, modest weight (1.3 kg) and affordable cost. It is also worth noting good battery life (up to 14 hours), which is provided by a capacious 3-cell battery (48 Wh) and an energy-efficient Intel Jasper Lake hardware platform (CPU Gen11, 10 nm).
Acer Swift 1 SF114-34 laptops are positioned as models of the basic price category, designed to solve simple professional, household and educational tasks. They can be used for network communications, multi-user video conferencing (Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Skype, etc.) and play the role of a mobile multimedia entertainment centre. Adequate performance is provided by 4-core Intel Pentium Silver N6000 processors, working in conjunction with 4/8 GB DDR4 RAM and a fast NVMe SSD with a capacity of 128 or 256 GB. The Intel UHD Graphics embedded in these processors guarantees baseline 3D performance and supports hardware-accelerated HD/UHD video decoding. It is possible to connect an external monitor, LCD/OLED TV or multimedia projector via HDMI.

I got the model with 8 RAM, 256 SSD, mainly for mobility, so I thought it would be quite sluggish, based on my previous experience with laptops with passive cooling, but no! I was very pleasantly surprised when all the drivers were installed, the laptop started to run very quickly, the response to clicks was instant, and the new processor architecture along with pretty good memory do their job. I can easily keep 20 tabs in Chrome even in power-saving mode. It plays 4K 60 FPS video with the integrated graphics card loading at about 60%, everything is smooth and beautiful, a worthy result. All office tasks are handled without problems. Simple games are also possible, but only simple ones, I haven't installed anything heavy and won't, there's no point. The display's matrix is also quite good, with nice colors and viewing angles, providing a pleasant image. The sound is quite acceptable, not bass-rich, but it doesn't irritate the ear, pleasant to listen to, and has normal volume reserve. The keyboard backlight is adjustable, you can set it to turn off automatically or stay lit all the time. Compared it with my main laptop on Ryzen 5, 2nd generation, and there are interesting moments where some applications launch really twice as fast and work without lag, even though the processor is three times weaker according to benchmarks. The Pentium N6000 is worth considering, it's supposedly 4 cores that will be used as energy-efficient ones in Alder Lake-S, we'll see. – new 10 nm processor, 6 W – sufficient performance – passive cooling! Completely silent. – hardware video decoders work well – energy-efficient, lasts about 12 hours in power-saving mode with brightness at around 70-80% if just browsing – quality IPS display – Wi-Fi 6 ax with 160 MHz bandwidth, I don't have such a router, but it's still very good for such a laptop – doesn't overheat, I don't notice any lag even when it's warm – has a fingerprint scanner, but I'm paranoid, so I don't use it)) – weight and size are perfect for me, but that's subjective - until all the drivers are installed, it slows down quite a bit, but that's not a problem, there is initially a 3 GB partition on the disk with the drivers, install for Wi-Fi, and then it will pull everything else automatically |
I have been using this model (Acer Swift 1 SF114-34) for more than three years - I never regretted the purchase (and I took a loooong time choosing). I needed a laptop with good ergonomics, sufficient memory, a good display, moderate size, and an affordable price. I chose this model and never regretted my choice! It handles its tasks wonderfully, is neat, lightweight, fast, has plenty of memory, and a good display. It will be an excellent choice for any work for both adults and children - it's convenient for studying and entertainment. It holds a charge well - which is very important in our times. In simple terms - it has everything an average user needs! I recommend it! Convenience, size, ergonomics, silence, versatility, display, keyboard backlight, good sound, excellent price. Maybe I'm too loyal, but I didn't find any drawbacks. |
