— an "extended and augmented" version of a regular acoustic guitar (see the relevant paragraph): an acoustic instrument equipped with a pickup and an output for connecting to an external amplifier. This greatly expands the possibilities for the use of such guitars and makes them very convenient for concerts and other events where the instrument needs to be sounded with the help of external equipment. At the same time, nothing prevents you from using the guitar without connection, like ordinary acoustics.
