Although Crucial is backed by one of the world's largest memory makers, Micron, the brand hasn't been doing very well lately. Low-cost SSDs showed themselves great in business, but the more serious developments of the company constantly got into a puddle and did not enjoy success with enthusiasts. At least until the Crucial P5 SSD M.2 drives entered the market, which were loved by both experts and ordinary users.

The P5 success formula combines several important components. Firstly, these are high operating speeds up to 3400 MB / s, which are combined with high IOPS, thanks to which these drives quickly cope with the transfer of large files and the recording of archives consisting of many small files. Secondly, the use of memory and controllers of our own production made it possible to achieve high reliability (a 5-year warranty is included). Thirdly, the cost of P5 models is slightly higher than the prices of simple SATA SSDs like the Crucial MX500 and BX500.

In 2021, Crucial has updated the P5 series with the launch of P5 Plus PCI-E 4.0 drives. They are based on 176-layer 3D TLC NAND memory of our own production and support the NVMe protocol version 1.3. Throw in some brand new memory controllers that were built to fly at light speed and you have a full-fledged nextgen SSD that can handle speeds up to 6600MB/s. This drive will be an excellent choice for a demanding gamer, designer, photographer or video processing specialist. The range of P5 Plus models includes 500 GB, 1 TB and 2 TB drives.
