Tempered glass

— tempered glass surfaces are scratch-resistant, easy to clean and stylish. For several reasons (in particular, due to low heat resistance), this material is not used in purely electrical working hobs, but it is found in gas and combined ones. In such devices, it is even more prefered than glass ceramics: it looks and cleans just as well. It costs less, and only two nuances can be noted as noticeable shortcomings: higher sensitivity to shocks and incompatibility with Hi-Light heaters (which is why combined models have to use solid plate burners).
