Bullets with a core for airguns

Core

— bullets consisting of a hard core and a soft jacket made of lead or plastic.

According to the general outlines (both the head part and the entire bullet), such ammunition is closest to conical ones (see the relevant paragraph), but they have their own specifics. So, on the one hand, the presence of the core contributes to a high penetrating effect and at the same time improves the stopping effect: when it hits a more or less dense surface, the shell remains outside, and the core penetrates deep into. On the other hand, core bullets do not differ in accuracy, especially when used in powerful weapons with high muzzle velocity. So it makes sense to use them in relatively weak rifles / pistols at short and, at most, medium distances.
