A full format ATX board, which belongs to the upper price segment and is designed for the use of advanced gaming systems with serious hardware and several video cards. It is based on the 2021 Intel ZB660 chipset with socket LGA 1700. The latter guarantees full compatibility with 4/6/8/12/16-core Intel Core/Pentium/Celeron 12th generation Alder Lake processors. The board is equipped with an advanced 14-phase power subsystem using a high-end element base and additional cooling for the VRM, power circuits and power elements.

Thanks to this approach, MSI MAG B660 TOMAHAWK WIFI DDR4 is friendly to overclocking and can work for a long time under complex multi-threaded workload, including image processing in next-gen games, high-definition video processing, as well as rendering 3D photorealistic images. One of the features of the board was the support for the PCI-E 5.0 system interface, which makes it possible to increase the speed of data exchange between the system and the corresponding NVMe SSD drive.

The layout of the board provides two slots for installing video cards in SLI mode, four slots for DDR4 4800 RAM modules with a total capacity of up to 128 GB, three slots for M.2 drives and six connectors for connecting traditional SATA3 devices. A high-speed 2.5-gigabit LAN controller Realtek RTL8125B-CG and a wireless communication module with support for Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth v 5.2 are responsible for processing network traffic. Additional equipment of the board includes a high-quality audio system based on the Realtek ALC1220P chip, a Thunderbolt AIC connector, and four connectors for connecting RGB and ARGB tapes.
